What Am I?

Atlas

Name: John David Caldwell

Age: Twenty

D.O.B.: March 28, 1978

I am male. In addition, I'm also Canadian and damn proud of it. Some claim that I have a social conscience but my beliefs are firmly conservative. As President of my own company, I am a businessperson. A Diplomacy player, I am also a negotiator. On a lighter note, I am an artist in the traditional sense - that being acrilic and oil painting as well as sketching in coal and conte. A thinker of sorts, I am a student of the School of Objectivism and thus, a philosopher. Furthermore, as a historian I explore the fine details of contemporary military conflict. I am many people mixed together studying the applied arts at the genesis of a life I have just begun.

Where Am I?

Trent University, Champlain College

I live in Canada, the Province of Ontario, in the City of Peterborough. This city is located approx. 2 hours north-east of Toronto on Highway 115. Peterborough, dubbed "Toronto's Playground", is the home of Trent University. Located to the north of the city, the university's student population is approx. 4000 and this university is well-known for its arts programs. I am taking an Honours Degree in Administrative Studies.

Why Am I?

Medical

I am a die-hard athiest. I'm not one to criticize religious nuts and frothing-at-the-mouth-fanatics. I believe in evolution, period. Some claim that everything had to start from something, but that's saying time is linear. Why? Can't time and space in which we revolve and move forward be spherical, never stopping or starting from a set location? I'm in the process of writing a paper explaining my views - it should be available here in the near future. Anyway, the fact is I was the product of my parents and I have no real idea whether I have a purpose on this earth or not. I do know, however, that from my interests at this time and the experiences I have had in my childhood, my direction in the near future is a bit of family and a lot of business so I think that's the road I'm taking.

There have been many a people who I have had arguements with that claim that money is not everything and that enjoying life should be our primary goal. As much as I'd like to agree with that, money does go a long way in helping achieve happiness. As I said above, I'm a conservative. A more accurate term would be "neo-conservative". I'm all for Mike Harris, Premier of Ontario, slashing the cutting the provincial budget, demolishing unions and supporting the corporate culture - as Donald Trump so elequantly said in his book, The Art of the Comeback, activists are merely citizens with too much time on their hands. In my experience, I've found the only common denominator among the activists and union leaders - I'm not against union members as it's the "corporate" leaders who control the minions, as the union leaders state; then what are the union leaders doing making decisions for their "minion membership"? - is the manipulation, misinterpretation and/or total disregard for pure fact.
